Prince Harry is worried about Angela Kelly reviving old ‘Tiaragate’ controversy, per source
Angela Kelly, Queen Elizabeth II’s dresser and confidante, who lost her job after the Queen’s demise, might revive the infamous “Tiaragate” controversy again. Despite reportedly signing a non-disclosure agreement, Kelly could talk about the Sussexes.
Harry, in his memoir, Spare, revealed a heated exchange with Kelly over Meghan Markle’s choice of tiara during their marriage. He revealed Markle requested a Russian-style tiara from the Queen’s collection for their marriage. However, Kelly insisted proper protocol had to be followed before a tiara could be made available, leading to an exchange between her and Harry.
According to Woman’s Day reports, there’s a film under development that explores Kelly and Queen’s friendship. The source claims Harry is in “major panic” that Kelly might reveal about him and Markle.
A source said, “Harry has every reason to be afraid of this woman. He tore into her in his book, and it’s no secret she was absolutely furious. It’s hard to imagine she will pass up the chance to avenge what the prince said about her.”
Earlier, according to reports, royal staffers claimed the film production is “a very accurate portrayal.” There is allegedly another from around the time of Tiaragate that Markle and Harry “are praying does not come out in this drama.”
Following the memoir’s publication, reports suggested Kelly was “upset” by Harry’s account. The source said, “The sad thing is that Angela is not allowed to give her side of the story.”
The reported project could bring attention to the Tiaragate controversy. However, it remains unclear whether the film will include Kelly’s perspective or details about the disagreement.
