Chris Brown slammed the music industry and declared himself “the king” in an Instagram rant
According to TMZ, Chris Brown posted a lengthy Instagram Story on Tuesday criticizing the music industry and celebrity culture. He said he did not want anyone’s approval or “fake love” and described the industry as a circus.
Brown then broadened his rant. At one point, he wrote, “I don’t like none of you celebrities,” before dismissing outside opinions and declaring, “F*** being humble.”
Notably, Brown also made a bold claim about his place in music. He called himself “the king” and argued that no other artist could compete with him, even on his worst day.
However, he did not name any musicians while making those claims. Instead, the Chris Brown rant targeted what he described as agendas, narratives and industry politics more generally.
The posts arrived only days after Brown clashed with Texas Rep. Venton Jones. Jones apologized after taking part in a congressional recognition of Brown and Usher. Brown later criticized the lawmaker on Instagram for changing his position amid backlash.
Meanwhile, Brown has used Instagram for other public reactions this year. After Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime performance, he posted his own pointed response, writing that organizers “need me.”
Still, his latest meltdown went considerably further. Brown said he was finished being nice and appeared ready to embrace being viewed as the villain.
Ultimately, the latest posts showed Chris Brown openly rejecting music industry approval while declaring himself the king on his own terms.
