JoJo Siwa May Be Getting Ahead of Herself With Chris Hughes

JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes have revealed that they share the same vision for a future engagement ring, fueling speculation about their marriage plans. The singer and dancer revealed that they independently chose the same ring design, even though she wanted Hughes to create something himself.

The couple, who met on Celebrity Big Brother UK in 2025, have never shied away from discussing their future together. Their latest revelation suggests that they have already considered a future proposal, although they have not announced an engagement.

JoJo Siwa reveals an unexpected conversation about engagement rings

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE at the Industry Dance Awards, Siwa explained that she wanted Hughes to design her ring himself. She had even told her mother, Dance Moms alum Jessalynn Siwa, that she wanted Hughes to design the ring himself.

“I want him to design it completely. I want it to be completely his design,” she recalled telling her mother.

The topic later came up during dinner. Siwa asked Hughes what he imagined her dream ring would look like. She had already found her ideal design online. They agreed to reveal their choices simultaneously, only to discover they had selected the same photograph.

“One, two, three. And we flipped it. And we were holding the same photo from Google!” she told the outlet. The ring featured a blue, emerald-shaped stone, and Siwa said the chances of choosing the same design were “so slim.”

Siwa also said their relationship was going well, despite being surprised by how quickly time had passed. “We’re about to have our year and a half anniversary, which is wild,” she said.

The couple had discussed their future together long before the engagement ring revelation. In July 2025, Hughes told Us Weekly that he and Siwa had discussed marriage and children. He described those conversations as exciting when two people are deeply in love. He also described Siwa as the “love of my life” in an E! News interview that month.

Siwa later shared similar feelings on the Reign with Josh Smith podcast, saying she had never wanted a future so badly. Their romance also inspired her 2026 single, “Serendipity.” Speaking to PEOPLE in March, Siwa described its inspiration as her “very sweet love Christopher.”

The pair celebrated their first anniversary in May 2026, with Siwa calling Hughes her “bestest friend” in an Instagram tribute.

However, the matching ring designs do not confirm an engagement. They simply offer another glimpse into the couple’s plans for the future.
