Harry and Meghan plan on living in a private, non-royal home for an extended period of time. Now that the Sussexes have returned to Britain with more independence than they had as working royals, they could test the royal palace’s patience.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s return to the UK with greater independence and new business interests could reportedly test the royal palace’s patience. Royal observers shared with Fox News Digital that the former actress could pursue her own personal endeavours as she isn’t a working royal anymore. This can seemingly cause tensions with the firm she once represented as a working royal.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams dished to the outlet: “The nightmare for the Palace is that they can’t be controlled.” He continued, “diary clashes will probably mean royal engagements are overshadowed by what the Sussexes choose to do and what they are, or are not, asked to by the Palace.”
Kinsey Schofield, host of YouTube’s Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered, echoed Fitzwilliams’ sentiments. Schofield explained that Buckingham Palace will be able to exercise “very little control” over Harry and Meghan’s commercial activities. This is because the Sussexes have reportedly returned to the UK for their career endeavours and not to serve the royal family anymore.
Schofield revealed that although the Sussexes are not employed by the royals anymore, they stand to gain a lot from Harry’s lineage. “But Harry is still the King’s son and Meghan is still the Duchess of Sussex, so there is an inevitable association with the monarchy. That’s the complicated part. They can operate independently while still benefiting from an enormous amount of public interest that exists because of Harry’s DNA,” she said. However, the royal palace can still limit how much access Harry and Meghan can have to resources attached to the royal family.
