Prince William Has One Big Condition for Prince Harry Reunion — Expert

According to royal commentator Nick Ede, Prince William has a condition before accepting Prince Harry’s reconciliation offer. Reportedly, Prince William needs to be assured that his conversations with his brother shall remain private and confidential. The former friend of Meghan Markle said that the bond between the brothers has been seriously compromised due to years of public family disputes.

Prince William needs to know Prince Harry’s olive branch is ‘genuine and private,’ per expert

According to Express, Ede has suggested that Prince William has mixed reactions about Prince Harry’s latest comments. The Duke of Sussex has expressed a desire to reconcile with his brother. Harry said: “I want it to work out. Of course I do,” adding that “the most important thing is to reconcile.”

However, Ede believes the Prince of Wales may be cautious about responding to the public appeal. “I imagine William will have mixed emotions about Harry’s public plea. There will always be a bond between the brothers, but the trust has been seriously damaged.”

He continued: “William is fiercely protective of Catherine and his family, and I think he will be wary of another public reconciliation that could end in further revelations. Harry may be extending an olive branch, but William needs to know it’s genuine and, most importantly, private.”

The rift between the brothers began after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped away from their royal duties in 2020. Following their move to California, the Sussexes have participated in a Netflix documentary that exposed many family secrets. Additionally, Prince Harry’s memoir “Spare” also delved into personal family disagreements.

Though reconciliation may be on the cards, Ede believes that it may not be enough to repair the relationship.  “Of course they can be forgiven, but forgiveness and trust are two very different things,” he said.

“The Netflix documentary and Spare exposed deeply personal family matters to millions of people, and that isn’t something you simply forget. Harry and Meghan have every right to tell their story, but there are consequences when you make private family disputes public.”

He added: “If they genuinely want reconciliation, actions will speak far louder than another interview or public statement.”
