Meghan Markle Plans ‘Small Beer’ Thanksgiving After Brutal A-List Snub — Report

Daily Mail editor Alison Boshoff has raised concerns about Meghan Markle’s reported Thanksgiving plans. The Duchess of Sussex is reportedly planning a private Thanksgiving dinner with fellow American mothers from her children’s school in the UK. Boshoff questioned whether the modest gathering reflected a decline in the Sussexes’ social standing since they stepped back from royal duties.

During a NewsNation interview, Boshoff described the reported dinner plans as “small beer.” She suggested that the gathering reflected a shift in the Sussexes’ social standing over the past six years.

“Someone was saying to me, ‘Oh, Meghan’s planning, she’s got big Thanksgiving plans. She’s going to have some of the American school mums over for a private Thanksgiving dinner. This is a bit small beer, isn’t it?’” Boshoff said.

She also argued that the Sussexes no longer attract the same level of attention and support from A-list celebrities. As reported by Yahoo, Boshoff believes the couple’s public criticism of the royal family has strained their relationships with some celebrities.

“When they left, they had so many friends, and they had so many hangers-on and people who wanted to suck up to them and make nice with them,” she said.

“So much was torched by what he said about the royal family,” Boshoff added. She further claimed that George and Amal Clooney had distanced themselves from the Sussexes. Boshoff further suggested that the Sussexes occupy an uncertain position in British social circles. She said the couple were “under the wing of a billionaire friend” while continuing their charitable work and attending events involving their children.

“They’re not in the showbiz firmament because everyone’s had enough of them, and it doesn’t like being used,” she said. “And they’re not in high society because they don’t do the shooting. So, yeah, they do seem to have landed in a really awkward little byway there.”

Despite the state of affairs, Boshoff has a way out for Harry and Meghan. She suggested that Meghan could connect with Lauren Silverman, Simon Cowell’s partner, and her network of affluent American women living in the Cotswolds.
