According to royal commentator Kinsey Schofield, school officials in the Cotswolds contacted parents about rules involving high-profile students. Schofield told Page Six that families were reminded to be careful about sharing images or information involving pupils.
Schofield said, “The message sent to families essentially said that, from time to time, some families joining the school may attract a greater level of public or media interest.”
The message reportedly stressed that every child should be able to enjoy school in “a safe, happy, and private environment.”
Parents and carers were also asked not to take photos or videos of other children without permission. They were further reminded not to post photos, information or details about pupils or their families on social media.
Schofield said a source told her the Sussexes had “approached multiple schools” before moving back to the UK. The name of the school that sent the warning is not available. Page Six said it was done for privacy reasons, and confirmed that Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, attend a different school.
Harry and Meghan had spent six years living in Montecito, Calif., after stepping down from their royal duties in 2020. Earlier this month, news broke that the couple planned to return to England for “an extended period.”
Harry reportedly wanted his children to be closer to his father, King Charles III. He also hoped they would develop relationships with other members of the royal family.
The family moved last Wednesday, with Harry and Meghan leaving their $14 million Montecito home. They traveled to the UK on a private jet. Page Six also reported that British hedge fund billionaire Ian Wace provided financial help with the move, though he is not believed to be funding their entire stay.
