Kanye West Is Not Invited to Grammys After Bianca Censori Incident — Source

A new report suggests that Kanye West has been barred from this year’s Grammys. It comes after the rapper issued a public apology for his erratic behavior and past outbursts. Notably, West and his wife, Bianca Censori, sparked widespread controversy at their Grammys appearance last year. At the red carpet, the latter took off her fur coat, unveiling a completely transparent, sheer dress, which made it seem like she was naked.

Kanye West is not invited to Grammys this year, sources suggest

Sources allegedly familiar with Kanye West reportedly revealed where he stood in his relationship with the Grammys. A source told The Sun that the annual music awards ceremony will never issue tickets to West again, adding, “He is not welcome.” They further stated, “It’s unlikely he will try to crash this year, but you never know. He is always unpredictable.” Meanwhile, another source claimed that the 48-year-old does not have an invitation to this year’s Grammys, taking place at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena.

The “Donda” artist seems to have a turbulent relationship with the Grammys. Last year, Page Six reported that he and Bianca Censori were ejected from the ceremony. This was after the latter’s controversial stunt on the red carpet. The infamous controversy included Censori taking off her fur coat to reveal her sheer dress. This created an impression that she was stark naked. The outlet added that the move was West’s attempt “to replicate the album cover of ‘Vultures.'”

However, outlets like Variety and People, citing sources, countered, reporting that West left on his own accord. Moreover, Grammy executive producer Raj Kapoor said organizers did not reserve a seat for West, though they did not kick him out.

Three years earlier, the Grammys banned West from performing. A representative told The Blast that this was due to his “concerning online behavior.” He has also reportedly accused the Grammys of showing a lack of inclusivity. In 2015, he ranted to E! News about how Beck, who won Album of the Year for Morning Phase, should’ve given his award to Beyoncé.

West recently issued a public apology for his wild behavior via a full-page ad on Wall Street Journal. In the ad, he attributed his erratic behavior to an unnoticed, deeper injury inside his skull from a car accident 25 years ago. The accident injured the right frontal lobe of his brain and broke his jaw. He expressed regret, saying he was “deeply mortified by [his] actions in that state.” He added, “[I] am committed to accountability, treatment, and meaningful change. It does not excuse what I did, though.”
