Man Discovers Police Stand-Off Surrounding His Home Minutes After Trotting Outside To Shoot Squirrel With BB Gun

If anyone has any ideas on how to get rid of troublesome squirrels without the local police being called, surrounding your home, waiving their guns, and putting a nearby school on lock-down, a man in Florida is all ears.

The dude in the video below said he was outside with his BB gun, trying to shoot some squirrels that were in his attic. The morning ended with him walking outside his home in a towel, surrounded by police. His mother — face cream and all — also made an appearance.

It truly looks like a twisted version of Christmas Vacation. The poor guy had no idea what was going on until his ‘girl’ started hanging Christmas lights in the window and noticed police surrounding their home.

“She seen the police waving the gun and she was like babes, ‘police out here, waving guns, pointing guns, at our house.’ I jumped out for real then. What you mean?” he tells reporters.

Here’s the only info given from the local Orlando TV station.

Police said they received reports that a man was armed with a rifle in a neighborhood near Cambridge Elementary School shortly after 8:30 a.m. Police searched the area and blocked off Yale Lane and worked with a crime analyst to gather information about the address where the man was seen with the gun.

After about 90 minutes, officers were able to get the man inside the home to exit without incident.

He told police he had a BB gun and was trying to get rid of problem squirrels in his attic.

Police said the school lockdown was lifted after the man spoke with detectives and they determined there wasn’t a threat.

Man, what’s a guy gotta do to get rid of some squirrels? I guess next time call the police?
