‘Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone’ To Be Performed In Full By Sydney Symphony Orchestra

The Sydney Symphony Orchestra (SSO) has announced a pretty special pair of concerts where they will play the score for ‘Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone’ live, alongside a screening of the film.

As part of the worldwide Harry Potter Film Concert Series, the SSO will play John Williams’ epic score alongside the movie on two separate nights at the Sydney Opera House in April 2017.

The timeless J.K. Rowling novel, the first in the Harry Potter series, was released way back in 1997 and adapted to film in 2001. It made a whole generation of fans decide whether they wanted to be in Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin, and saw wands waved all across the world.

The SSO playing live to the movie will no doubt add a whole other dimension to the film, which has probably been watched by most close to one hundred times. You’ve never heard it like this though, as this is the first time this has been done in Australia.

Come April 2017, you better be hopping straight on the Hogwarts Express (or Sydney Trains, let’s be honest) to the Sydney Opera House for what is sure to be one seriously hot ticket.

Someone’s obviously cast a fire spell on Australia, because this is going to be straight fire. Tickets are on sale Saturday, 15th October, so you better make the right choice and nab one quickly.

Check out all the details below. You can also see the score to ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ being performed below in Vienna.
