Jimmy Kimmel Tells NSFW Story About Matthew McConaughey Exposing Himself at Awards Show

Jimmy Kimmel shared an unusual and NSFW story involving Matthew McConaughey during Monday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!. The late-night host recalled an awkward encounter with the actor in an Emmy Awards restroom that began during a difficult moment for Kimmel but quickly took a bizarre turn.

According to Variety, Kimmel explained that he had stepped away from the Emmy ceremony after becoming emotional during the In Memoriam segment. The tribute mentioned his childhood best friend and longtime bandleader, Cleto Escobedo III, who died earlier in 2026.

While Kimmel was in the restroom trying to collect himself, he noticed McConaughey standing at the urinal next to him. McConaughey noticed that Kimmel was upset and asked if he was OK.

Kimmel told the actor what had happened. According to Kimmel, McConaughey then turned away from the urinal and hugged him. The awkward part was that McConaughey had not zipped his pants back up.

“He sees that I’m upset and he’s like, ‘Hey, you OK?’” Kimmel recalled. “And I told him what happened, and he is again at the urinal, and he turns to me, and he gives me a very nice hug.”

Kimmel then realized what was happening and asked McConaughey, “Is your penis out?”

McConaughey reportedly answered, “Yes, it is. Yes it is.”

The actor then took the joke even further, according to Kimmel, telling him, “In fact, I’m going to rub it up against you a little bit.”

Woody Harrelson walked into the unusual moment as Kimmel opened up about his grief

The situation became even more awkward when Woody Harrelson came out of a nearby restroom stall and saw what was happening. Harrelson was appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! with McConaughey to promote their Apple TV+ comedy series Brothers.

Rather than interrupt them, Harrelson decided to leave the two alone.

“I never try to grade or critique what other people are doing,” Harrelson joked. “And I figured you guys, whatever your thing is, I didn’t want to be the guy to say, ‘No, not in the restroom at the Emmys!’”

Harrelson also explained that he later joined Kimmel and others for a group hug in the hallway.

For Kimmel, the strange interaction provided some much-needed humor during an emotional night. He suggested that Escobedo, who had been his friend for years, would have appreciated the ridiculous nature of the story.

What began as a private moment of grief in an Emmy restroom ultimately became one of the more unexpected stories from Kimmel’s night at the ceremony.
