Six months after walking away from one of Hulu’s biggest reality hits, one Mormon Wives breakout star already has her next move locked in. The fan-favorite is returning to the streamer with her own reality series, and she’s bringing her family along for the ride.
Whitney Leavitt to lead her own reality series on Hulu
Whitney Leavitt will star in and produce her own reality series on Hulu, Deadline reported. Jeff Jenkins Productions, 3BMG and Leavitt Media House are producing the untitled show. The greenlit series follows Leavitt and her family as they navigate her growing fame and career.
The show will track “firebrand Whitney Leavitt and her family as they navigate her newfound fame and career ambitions while always putting family first.” Leavitt announced her departure from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives in May during her final Chicago performance on Broadway. She appeared in the show’s fifth season but will not return after its renewal for another 20 episodes.
Leavitt has stayed busy since leaving the series. She competed in season 34 of Dancing with the Stars, finishing sixth alongside Mark Ballas. She also made her feature film debut in the holiday rom-com All for Love opposite Jesse Kove. Leavitt executive produced that film through her Leavitt Media House banner.
The new series adds to Hulu’s expanding Mormon Wives franchise. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County features OG star Jen Affleck, McCall DaPron, Bobbi Althoff and several other new cast members. That spinoff premieres on November 12. Leavitt will executive produce her series with husband Conner Leavitt, Jeff Jenkins, Russell Jay-Staglik, Amanda Weinstein, Brandon Beck, Ross Weintraub and Reinout Oerlemans.
Beyond reality television, Leavitt continues building her entertainment career. She will return to Broadway next month to star in the jukebox musical Just in Time. The new Hulu series marks her continued partnership with Jeff Jenkins Productions, which also produces the original Mormon Wives series.
