How the Queen supports Charles amid ongoing family challenges
In a conversation with The Daily Mail, royal expert Phil Dampier claimed that Queen Camilla has been King Charles’ ultimate support system amid family tensions. He added, “None of these challenges have derailed the King’s reign and he’s had to be very resilient, but he has a very strong support system in his wife, without her I think he would struggle.” They added that she has the monarch’s back, helping him navigate the challenges and keeping him sane.
This update comes after Camilla missed the early leg of the Caribbean tour. While the king and queen have undertaken several tours together, Camilla’s absence has left many wondering about the reason. Several reports suggested that she was absent due to her fear of flying. She’s reportedly an anxious flyer who doesn’t like switching between planes. However, it is worth noting that Buckingham Palace hasn’t confirmed this reason for her absence.
Nonetheless, Camilla joined Charles in Antigua and Barbuda. This tour comes a few days after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Nottingham charity visit, which marked their first public appearance together since their return to the UK in August 2026.
