Kate Middleton is reportedly concerned that King Charles and Prince William could place too much pressure on her eldest son, Prince George, as they prepare him for his future role as heir to the throne. While the Princess of Wales wants her 13-year-old son to understand his royal responsibilities, she is also determined to protect his childhood and make sure he enjoys time away from school and royal preparations.

Kate Middleton particularly looked forward to the October half-term break because it gave her a chance to spend time with all three of her children. Prince George attends the prestigious Eton College as a boarding student, so his time at home means a lot to his mother. During a visit to Café 98, a coffee shop run by East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, Kate reportedly spoke about how happy she was to have George back home.
Denise Ashton, who attended the visit, said the Princess of Wales also mentioned the possibility of a family holiday. George’s younger siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, were also enjoying their October break from Lambrook School. The school holidays gave the family a chance to spend time together at their home, Forest Lodge, in Windsor Great Park.
An insider told Closer that Kate had been looking forward to George’s return and wanted to make the most of their time together. “Kate has been counting the days until George is back from school; she misses him terribly and can’t wait to welcome him home and spoil him,” the source claimed. Another insider added, “Family is the most important thing to her.”
The future queen wants to make the school holidays special for her children. However, George may also use this time to learn more about his upcoming role in the monarchy. “[Prince] William is very keen to use this time with his son to really dig into some important preparations. He’s been gradually teaching George about his future role for years, but now that [King] Charles is handing more responsibility to William, there’s a bigger sense of urgency to it all,” the source said.
