According to a Star Magazine report, Vergara saw an opening. “She’s absolutely fascinated by the whole Meghan situation,” the source said. The insider called it “a golden opportunity that has thus far been squandered.”
Meanwhile, the report noted no confirmed acting role had emerged since Meghan returned to England in August. Star referenced an earlier claim that she had booked “the show,” though nothing was confirmed. Still, the source said Sofia Vergara continued to see “untapped potential” in the former “Suits” actress.
However, the insider pointed to Vergara’s long history in the entertainment business and talent management. “Sofía comes at this with a deep history in talent management,” the source said. They highlighted Latin World Entertainment, the company she co-founded more than 30 years ago. The source noted it had “long specialized in Hispanic talent.”
Even so, Sofia reportedly “would love to advise Meghan about returning to acting.” That could include “endorsement deals and publicity in general,” according to the source. For context, Forbes named Vergara the world’s highest-paid actress in 2020, with $43 million that year.
Additionally, the source said, “With some smart moves, Sofía managed to prove her early doubters wrong.” “She would love the chance to do the same thing with Meghan,” the insider added. Meghan Markle had also spoken positively about Vergara years earlier.
In 2017, she said makeup artist Kayleen McAdams used her favorite eyeliner on Vergara. Meanwhile, the source said the women had “a good number of mutual friends.” At present, “the ball is in Meghan’s court to actually sit down with Sofía.”
