Meghan Markle’s Apology to William & Kate Has a Hidden Agenda — Report

Meghan Markle’s reported apology to Prince William and Kate Middleton has been met with skepticism by a royal commentator, who questioned whether the Duchess of Sussex would be genuinely remorseful.

The commentator argued that Markle was fully aware of what she was saying during her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, making any alleged change of heart after returning to the UK seem questionable. The remarks come after reports suggested that Markle and Prince Harry could apologize to the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Commentator claims Meghan Markle’s apology to William and Kate will not be sincere

Meghan Markle’s potential apology to Prince William and Kate Middleton may have more to do with repairing her public image than expressing genuine remorse, according to royal commentator Carole Malone.

Speaking to the Daily Express, Malone questioned whether the Duchess of Sussex would offer a sincere apology, arguing that Markle and Prince Harry were aware of the accusations they made against the royal family during their 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey. Against this backdrop, the recent rumors about a possible apology appeared “calculated” to the commentator.

“If she is going to apologize it isn’t because she’s sorry. It’s because [she] and Harry have come back here,” Malone said. “They are desperately trying to reintegrate into Britian, they desperately want to look better.”

The royal commentator further suggested that Markle could be looking to reshape her public image and “persona.” According to Malone, the “Suits” alum would likely want to put the controversy behind her as quickly as possible. She also argued that if Markle hopes to establish a business or “make money” in Britain, rebuilding her reputation in the country could be essential.

“I truly believe this is nothing to do with her being sorry. This is about them trying to burnish their reputation, re-establish their reputation in this country,” the commentator claimed.

Meanwhile, an earlier Page Six report also addressed the speculation surrounding a possible apology. Royal journalist Tom Skyes dismissed the rumors of Harry and Markle apologizing to William and Middleton as “absolutely rubbish.” He also suggested that the Sussexes did not regret what they had discussed during their televised interview.

For those unfamiliar with the controversy, Markle alleged during the 2021 interview that members of the royal family had raised concerns about Prince Archie’s skin color before his birth. More recently, reports have suggested that the mother of two recognizes she made a “big mistake.”
