Prince Harry May Have Inspired Princess Diana’s Brother to Write His Book — Source

Prince Harry‘s behavior reportedly might have inspired Princess Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, to write his book. The 9th Earl Spencer has written a memoir titled “Swan Song: Diana, My Sister,” focusing on Diana’s childhood and royal life.

As the book gears up for its release, many are wondering why Spencer chose to share his stories about the late Princess of Wales after years. According to a source, the decision to write a memoir might have been inspired by Prince Harry.

Sources say Charles Spencer wrote his book because of Prince Harry

As per Rob Shuter, Prince Harry might have inspired Charles Spencer to write his book on Princess Diana after decades of keeping them a secret. Sources told the Naughty But Nice Harry that money would have led Spencer to plan this move. For years, insiders were supposed to stay silent about royal family information. However, the Duke of Sussex’s memoir, Spare, containing bombshell secrets, changed everything.

“Harry didn’t bend the rules — he destroyed them,” a royal insider stated. “Once Diana’s son could publish intimate details about the most powerful members of the family, it became much harder to argue that everyone else was obligated to remain silent,” the insider explained.

Sources also said that the Duke supported his uncle in telling his story. Moreover, Harry’s estrangement from Prince William allegedly created an important opportunity. It was to play a larger role in shaping his sister’s legacy.

“There’s a vacuum around Diana now,” the insider said. The late royal’s “sons are divided, and Spencer understands that gives him an authority he didn’t have before.” The insider added Spencer “isn’t simply Diana’s brother anymore — he can become a custodian of her history.”

Talking about money, another source explained the late Princess’ enormous value, Spencer’s ancestral estate, Althorp’s history, and public interest. Thus, a major book generates royalties and puts Spencer and the estate back into the global conversation.

“Spencer waited because silence once protected him,” the insider said. However, things have changed as “speaking may be more valuable than staying quiet.”
