Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s UK Halloween Plans Come With a Twist — Source

Costumes, candy and carved pumpkins are on the way, and the Sussexes are reportedly planning something bigger than the usual. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are said to have a spooky plan in the works for their kids, and their Halloween celebrations would borrow heavily from their years in California. For the Sussex children, that could mean familiar fun in an unfamiliar setting.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will bring ‘US-style Halloween’ to their kids in UK, per source

RadarOnline reports that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex plan to go “all out” for an American-style Halloween in Britain. The couple returned to the UK in late August with Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5. This would be the family’s first Halloween celebrations on British soil.

A source told the outlet that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have fully embraced the US approach to the holiday. According to the insider, “Halloween has become one of the highlights of their family calendar.” The source added that the American version is bigger and more elaborate than anything Harry knew growing up.

The traditions are not new for the pair. Meghan shared footage last year of a pumpkin farm visit, showing their children watching pumpkins being carved. In 2023, Harry and Meghan were also photographed trick-or-treating with their kids and other families near their Montecito home. The source also pointed out that Harry and Archie were carrying pumpkin-shaped baskets for the candy.

The insider said the children have “grown up with the full Californian experience.” Recreating it in Britain, the source suggested, would help the kids feel that the things they loved about American life “haven’t been left behind.”

The insider said that Harry and Meghan have always seemed keen to join in rather than “simply watching the children have fun.” The source claimed they enjoy “choosing costumes and decorating pumpkins.” They also noted that Archie and Lilibet are “at the perfect ages to appreciate all the excitement.”

For the Sussexes, and Harry in particular, “celebrating Halloween in Britain with both children would be a meaningful family milestone.” As for Meghan, the insider said, “She thinks it’s an opportunity to combine the things they’ve enjoyed as a family in the United States with the excitement of making new memories in Britain.”
