Prince Harry Throwing ‘Open Challenge’ to Royal Family With Peace Plea — Author

Prince Harry has reportedly made it clear that he wants to make peace with the royal family and reconcile with his relatives. Harry and Meghan Markle are now back in Britain with their children after living in California for nearly six years. Their return sparked speculation about a possible reconciliation, particularly between Harry and his brother, Prince William. However, no reunion has taken place yet. While Harry reportedly prioritizes reconciliation, an author believes his public remarks could be seen as a “challenge” to the royal family.

Prince Harry’s public wish to reconcile with royal family will be interpreted as a ‘challenge,’ per author

Prince Harry’s public declaration that he wants to reconcile with the royal family amid the ongoing feud could reportedly be interpreted as a “challenge.” According to Page Six, the Duke of Sussex spoke about his return to the UK on Tuesday. He told GQ, “With everything else that’s going on in the world, the most important thing is to reconcile. That’s the key point.”

A family friend reportedly suggested that Harry’s open declaration about wanting to reunite with his family could put the royal family in an awkward position. They added that his remarks could be interpreted as a “challenge” rather than simply an expression of his desire to make peace.

Meanwhile, royal biographer Hugo Vickers noted that although Harry may want to mend his relationship with his family, they might not share the same perspective. This, he suggested, is because Harry publicly aired his grievances against them, leaving a great deal of hurt to address.

Vickers said, “Both the King and William have been very clever to say very little. They have not responded publicly, even when Prince Harry said that he wanted to put the past behind them.” He added that there is considerable history between them that cannot easily be put behind them.

The biographer suggested that Harry should try to resolve the family rift privately. However, Vickers argued that Harry and Meghan’s public engagements, which he characterized as faux-royal activities, could make reconciliation more difficult. He suggested that some members of the public may view their appearances as an attempt to resume royal-style duties. As far as public perception is concerned, he said that “his presence risks creating the impression of a challenge to the monarchy.”
