According to a royal expert, the logistics and security concerns that led Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to switch their children’s school shouldn’t come as a surprise. She said locals had initially flagged the traffic issues to her before the kids started school. This update comes after the Sussexes shared that they had decided to move their children to another school and clarified that the former school’s environment had nothing to do with the change.

According to Fox News, another royal commentator, Richard Fitzwilliams, shared that the Sussexes’ kids moving to a new school, just two days into a term, was quite unusual. He suggested that Markle and Harry may have acted hastily and without enough preparation.
He said, “If the school run had the problems they have encountered, why did they not know earlier and why wait until their children have actually started school. Why is this all played out in the public domain?” He added that the security issues should be kept private and shouldn’t come under public attention. He noted that there may be some people who would perceive this move as building pressure on authorities to secure automatic security. This remark comes amid Harry’s recent push for a renewed security review.
HELLO! Magazine earlier reported that the school was far from the Sussexes’ accommodation and that there is heavy traffic surrounding the institution. The security concerns emerged after a recent incident that made it hard for their vehicles to move in convoy. It was known that during summer, their bodyguards did assess the to-and-fro school journey. However, they weren’t able to evaluate it properly until the school reopened and the traffic returned to normal.
“The decision for the children to move schools was taken following a discussion with the family’s security team about the practicalities of their current arrangements,” a spokesperson close to the Sussexes said.
