Sony Pictures has confirmed when the first trailer for Sacha Baron Cohen‘s Ali G movie will arrive. A new poster and video from Cohen recently teased the return of the iconic character to the big screen.
Sony Pictures UK shared both posts on X, confirming that the Ali G: Who Iz I? trailer will drop on August 25. The poster shows Ali G in his familiar tracksuit, beanie, tinted sunglasses, and chunky gold chains.
Along with the poster, Sony Pictures UK wrote, “Ali G has an XXX large announcement. Trailer out tomorrow. #AliGWhoIzI” In the video post, the caption read, “Yo, Ali G has a massive announcement – trailer drops TOMORROW. #AliGWhoIzI.”
What else do we know about the Ali G movie?
Ali G: Who Iz I? is scheduled to arrive in theaters on October 23, 2026. Sacha Baron Cohen stars as the iconic Ali G and also directs and writes the movie. The project will be his feature directorial debut. The character last appeared on the big screen in Ali G Indahouse, released in 2002.
The plot details remain under wraps, but the movie was filmed secretly in the U.K. and U.S. Reports said production had already wrapped before the film’s title and release details were revealed.
Before returning as Ali G, Cohen appeared in several recent film and television projects. He played Robert Ravenscroft in Alfonso Cuarón’s 2024 Apple TV+ series Disclaimer, starring Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline.
In 2025, Cohen appeared as Mephisto in Marvel’s Ironheart. He later starred alongside Rosamund Pike in the 2026 comedy Ladies First. The film follows a womanizing man who wakes up in a parallel world where women hold the power.
Cohen also appeared in Balls Up, a 2026 action comedy starring Mark Wahlberg and Paul Walter Hauser. This one is about two marketing executives who cause chaos during the World Cup and was released on Prime Video in April.
