Lionsgate has revealed the official poster of Idris Elba‘s upcoming survival thriller movie. The promotional material also contains the movie’s official trailer release date and theatrical release date.
The poster for Above the Below was shared by Cinemark Theaters on their official X account. It features Elba in a spacesuit with an intense expression. The poster is divided into two sections, with bubbles and water surrounding the upper-left corner, and a starry-orange glow resembling flames taking over the lower-right side.
It also features the theatrical release date of the movie, revealing that the film is scheduled for December 4, 2026. Moreover, the caption revealed that an official trailer for the film will be released tomorrow. Alongside Elba, Caitlin FitzGerald and Hero Fiennes Tiffin will also star in the survival thriller movie.
What to know about Idris Elba’s survival thriller Above the Below
According to Rotten Tomatoes, the movie synopsis reads, “In this tense thriller, three astronauts return to Earth only to discover their fight for survival has just begun. The crew, after their damaged spacecraft is violently hurled through the atmosphere, plunges into the depths of the ocean. With oxygen rapidly running out and hope fading, they are forced to make an unthinkable choice: who will risk everything to reach the surface… and who will remain behind with the wreckage below.”
In the movie, Elba plays Jackson, while FitzGerald plays Brookes, and Tiffin plays Rhodes. Isla Jackson-Ritchie is also credited as an actor in the upcoming movie.
