Sacha Baron Cohen is gearing up for the release of his latest movie, Ali G: Who Iz I. A recent promo, posted to social media, shows Cohen’s Ali G character debut his own popcorn bucket. However, in true Ali G fashion, the bucket comes with an NSFW twist.
The popcorn bucket is not an actual piece of merchandise that fans will be able to purchase in theaters. It is part of a gag for the movie. Popcorn buckets often get misinterpreted by the internet, spawning memes, as was true for the Deadpool popcorn bucket as well.
However, the promo sees Ali G make fun of the bucket’s “vibrator setting.” The joke is, of course, intentional, given that the bucket has Ali G’s face, with its head plastered with the words “Ali G Spot.”
Sacha Baron Cohen brings Ali G back for a new movie
Sacha Baron Cohen has a slew of characters that have achieved cult status with his audience. Be it Admiral General Aladeen or Borat, the actor has managed to make some of the boldest and most critically acclaimed movies with these characters.
Ali G is one of the characters that Cohen crafted for his satirical sets. He appeared in Ali G Indahouse, which served as the character’s cinematic debut. Now, marking Sacha Baron Cohen’s directorial debut, Ali G returns in Ali G: Who Iz I? The latter is a standalone movie and not a follow-up to Cohen’s 2002 feature.
So far, the cast has been revealed to include Cohen himself and Morgana Robinson. It is written by a team of writers, including Sacha Baron Cohen, Anthony Hines, Peter Baynham, Dan Swimer, Dan Mazer, and Keisha Zollar. Cohen also serves as a producer.
It is set for release on October 23, 2026, by Amazon MGM Studios.
