Senator Chris Coons reportedly got into a multi-car crash on Sunday. He was taken to the hospital and was provided with treatment for what his team called minor injuries. Moreover, he took to social media to address the Delaware incident and provide an update on his health.

Coons took to X (formerly Twitter) to break the silence on the Delaware multi-car crash and revealed how he has been doing. He initially expressed gratitude to all who provided excellent service in handling the incident. Coons wrote, “I’m deeply grateful to the first responders for their prompt and professional response, including the Lewes Police Department, Lewes and Rehoboth Fire Departments, and Sussex County Emergency Medical Services, as well as the capable doctors and nurses at Beebe Hospital, where I received excellent care.”
He said that he is “relieved” and “blessed” before disclosing that no one was “seriously injured” in the crash. Many flooded his comment section to wish him a speedy recovery and express their relief that he’s okay.
Earlier, Coons provided an update on how the incident took place on social media. He revealed that a Delaware driver experienced a medical issue, losing his consciousness, which led to him colliding with multiple cars. One of the cars was the senator’s, in which he was a passenger. As Coons endured minor injuries, he was taken to Beebe Hospital. What kind of injuries he endured remain undisclosed.
Moreover, there’s no update yet on the condition of the other people involved in the incident. According to the 62-year-old, he is now back home and is making a speedy recovery.
According to local NBC affiliate CoastTV, the crash took place on Savannah Road in Lewes, Del., around morning time. The collision led to the hospitalization of six people, including Coons.
