Euphoria Season 3 Star Details Deleted Scenes With Sydney Sweeney

Sydney Sweeney may have hogged the limelight with her scenes in Euphoria’s final installment, but there were some of Cassie’s scenes with Season 3’s big bad Alamo that ultimately got deleted. In a recent interview, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who embodied the villain role in the show’s third season, revealed that he filmed “some sequences” alongside Sweeney that unfortunately ended up on the cutting room floor.

The Suicide Squad star has confirmed that several of his scenes with Sydney Sweeney were deleted.

“We did shoot some sequences, more than what we saw,” Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje noted while speaking with Collider.

Explaining one such deleted shot in Euphoria Season 3, the British thespian stated, “It was an interesting scene. It was just a progression from Maddy now being in debt to Alamo, and part of that debt was also going to be paid by me owning Cassie, and basically, everything she’s earning is going directly into my pocket. She was demonstrating how she was going to work in my club. I don’t know how much you can say about those, but they were interesting and great to shoot.”

In addition to the deleted scenes with Sydney Sweeney’s Cassie, Akinnuoye-Agbaje also shed light on the dynamic Alamo and Maude Apatow’s Lexi could’ve shared in Euphoria Season 3 if the duo had shared time on the screen.

“She’s so prudish, and it would have been such a great juxtaposition with their personalities,” the Lost actor remarked. “She’s so prudish and judgmental, and he’s who he is. He’s way on the wrong side — he’s an outlaw — and she’s always freaking out about Rue’s activities and drug use. I would have enjoyed seeing Alamo corrupt her and having her working behind the scenes of his empire, running the books, and putting her little, theatrical, creative insights into how she could expand his empire.”

Euphoria concluded its three-season run on the small screen last month. Moreover, HBO officially drew curtains on a potential Season 4.
