Sydney Sweeney makes time for fans amid The Housemaid’s Secret filming
Sydney Sweeney took time out of filming The Housemaid’s Secret to meet young fans in Hoboken, New Jersey. Videos shared on Instagram show the actress promising a group of children she would return to take photos with them. Sweeney kept her word and came back between scenes, delighting the kids on set.
The Euphoria star is currently shooting the sequel to 2025’s The Housemaid in the Garden State. She reprises her role as Millie opposite Michele Morrone, who returns as Enzo. The two actors were spotted filming scenes together on October 14 in Hoboken.
The Housemaid proved a massive commercial success, earning over $400 million worldwide against a $35 million budget. Lionsgate greenlit the sequel less than a month after the original’s theatrical release. Sweeney and Morrone were confirmed to reprise their roles shortly after the announcement.
Paul Feig returns as director for The Housemaid’s Secret, with Sweeney and author Freida McFadden back as executive producers. Kirsten Dunst joined the cast in March in an undisclosed role. Paul Anthony Kelly will portray Douglas Garrick, while Stephen Kalyn and Brittany Snow round out the ensemble. The sequel follows Millie as she takes a new housekeeping job for a woman she never meets face-to-face. Behind a locked door, she uncovers secrets darker than her own past.
Amanda Seyfried previously expressed interest in returning for the follow-up. At the Palm Springs International Film Festival in January, the actress told Variety she wanted to see how the story keeps her character relevant.
The Housemaid’s Secret is scheduled to hit theaters on December 17, 2027.
