Instead, the couple is heading to America to celebrate the holidays with Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland. However, the Duke of Sussex is reportedly heartbroken as the Duchess of Sussex is reportedly moving forward with plans to celebrate the holidays in the U.S.

According to sources cited by RadarOnline, Meghan Markle is determined to return to California to spend Christmas with her mother, Doria Ragland. The report links her preference to what sources describe as a frosty reception from the Royal Family since the Sussexes’ reported return to the U.K. in August. These characterizations have not been independently confirmed.
One insider explained that Harry was willing to stay back in the UK, hoping Christmas would allow him to rebuild his broken relationship with Charles. Additionally, he was hoping Archie and Lilibet would get more familiar with their grandfather and the rest of the members of the royal family.
The Duke of Sussex had been “clinging” to that idea that Christmas may provide him with the perfect “breakthrough” he had been waiting for with the royal family. He is aware that he possibly doesn’t have enough time with his father. The whole situation is absolutely “crushing” for him.
However, Markle reportedly has a different perspective on the situation. According to the report, she believes the Sussexes have made considerable efforts to mend ties with the Royal Family, without seeing the same level of enthusiasm in return. The source also claimed she does not want to spend the Christmas holidays feeling uncomfortable or unwelcome.
Harry understands his wife’s predicament but does not want to give up on mending ties with his father. The source added: “He’s desperate for Charles to understand that he still wants a relationship with him and that being part of the family remains incredibly important.”
