A spokesperson clarifies Prince Harry’s comments on family rift in new interview
Prince Harry’s comment on the family feud raised eyebrows, as it seemed like a dig at Prince William and King Charles. During his recent interview with GQ, he was asked about his “complicated relationship” with the royal family. Although he didn’t speak openly about his personal life, the Duke made a general comment about a family rift. He said, “Some people don’t want it to work out. I want it to work out.”
This raised questions about whether he was addressing his reported feud with William. Hence, the Sussexes’ spokesperson clarified Harry’s comment. They reportedly told PEOPLE that the prince’s remark was “absolutely not intended as a swipe at his brother or any other member of his family.” According to them, Harry shared his thoughts in a “general context and was not directed at his family in any way.”
Meanwhile, in the interview, the “Spare” author said the family feud seemed like a “massively relatable issue” for almost everyone. He claimed that many people might think about how he deals with such complicated relationships, adding that he, too, would like to know how others handle such matters.
While “some people” wouldn’t want to work on it, he would reportedly want to bury the hatchet. “With everything else that’s going on in the world, the most important thing is to reconcile. That’s the key point,” Harry said in the interview.
Furthermore, a source close to the Duke told the outlet that Harry’s relationship with King Charles has become “better.” However, they claimed Harry and William are still in “no contact.”
