Two seasons of beloved Nickelodeon teen comedy Zoey 101 will be removed from Netflix’s library later next month. The show stars Jamie Lynn Spears, the younger sister of pop singer Britney Spears. The sisters also collaborated on the show’s theme song.
Zoey 101 Seasons 1 and 2 are leaving Netflix soon
The first two seasons of Zoey 101 will depart from Netflix’s streaming catalog on Sunday, June 21, 2026 (via What’s on Netflix).
The series follows Zoey Brooks, a teenager, as she enrolls at Pacific Coast Academy, a boarding school that has recently begun accepting girls. Alongside her brother Dustin and close friends, Zoey navigates her life as a teenager. While they initially struggle to fit into the school, they slowly overcome challenges together.
Dan Schneider developed Zoey 101 for Nickelodeon. It premiered with two episodes on January 9, 2005, and became an instant success. Reportedly, the two-episode premiere drew 3.4 million viewers for the pilot episode and 3.3 million for the follow-up. The show ultimately ran for four seasons, ending with a natural conclusion. Its finale, titled “PCA Confidential,” aired on May 2, 2008.
The show’s cast features Jamie Lynn Spears as the titular character. She is joined by Paul Butcher as Dustin, Sean Flynn as Chase, Kristin Herrera as Dana, Christopher Massey as Michael, Alexa Nikolas as Nicole, and Erin Sanders as Quinn, among others.
Despite its popularity with younger audiences, the series received a mixed response from critics and general viewers. On IMDb, it has an average score of 6.3 out of 10, based on nearly 20K users. Meanwhile, Rotten Tomatoes reports scores only for Season 1, which currently holds an 80% score from critics and and 56% score from users.
Fifteen years after the show ended, most of the original cast members returned for a sequel film, Zoey 102. It was released directly on Paramount+ in 2023 and received a mixed reception. It currently holds 56% critics’ score and 45% user score on Rotten Tomatoes.
