Netflix will release all six episodes of Season 2 at once. Season 1 was a huge hit for the streaming platform, generating around 59.4 million views in its first week. It went on to top Netflix’s global TV charts. On Rotten Tomatoes, Season 1 of the spy action thriller received a score of 92 percent on the Tomatometer based on reviews from critics. In 2024, Knightley told Netflix that the show provides some alternative viewing for the holiday season. She stated, “I think it’s the anti-Christmas series, and we all need one. Sometimes it’s quite intense to be at home with your family over Christmas, and you need a little escape route, and so Black Doves is your escape.”
