A new update reveals the potential release window for another season of Netflix‘s spooky animated series starring Will Forte and Skyler Gisondo. Creator Matt Roller has discussed the adult sitcom’s future in a recent podcast.
Speaking on The Bulwark Goes to Hollywood podcast, Roller addressed when fans can expect Haunted Hotel Season 3, revealing that he is targeting a release before Halloween 2027. He said, “In the event of a renewal, season three will be before Halloween 2027. It’s important to me that we kind of hit that spooky season cycle.”
Roller also confirmed the writers’ room has finished all the scripts for the potential third season. He described the new stories as strong and said they build on Season 2 in the same way the second installment expanded on the first. He also added that the team is planning a ten-episode run for the proposed season.
Haunted Hotel Season 3 is still waiting on Netflix’s approval
Despite the progress, Netflix has yet to renew Haunted Hotel for a third season. Roller said he has no additional information about the streamer’s decision but added the team is “ready to hit the ground running once we hear.”
Roller explained that the streamer’s model only allows a new season depending on the numbers of the prior season. The wait for Netflix approval could be short or long. Season 2 got renewed a week after the first season’s premiere. Haunted Hotel’s second season premiered on October 9 and has not reached the global top 10 weekly charts as of writing. What’s on Netflix reports that it appeared in the daily top 10s of 36 countries in its first week.
Haunted Hotel stars Will Forte as the voice of Nathan, along with Eliza Coupe as Katherine, Skyler Gisondo as Ben, Natalie Palamides as Esther, and Jimmi Simpson as Abaddon.
The eight-episode Season 2 currently holds a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes and is now streaming on Netflix.
