Netflix has officially ordered a new adult animated comedy titled Dang!, bringing together several creatives known for their work on acclaimed television comedies. The project is created by writers and producers Andrew Law and Matt Murray, with Mike Schur attached as an executive producer.

The animated comedy follows a brother and sister living carefree and chaotic lives in New York City. Their routine takes an unexpected turn when their highly accomplished older sister suddenly reenters their lives and insists on spending time with them. The situation quickly disrupts their comfortable dynamic, resulting in misadventures.

Law and Murray will serve as writers, executive producers, and co-showrunners on the project. Schur executive produces alongside Alan Yang and David Miner for 3Arts Entertainment. Additional executive producers include Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Ben Kalina, and Antonio Canobbio from animation studio Titmouse. The series is being produced by Universal Television, where Schur’s production company, Fremulon, currently holds an overall deal.

The voice cast includes Law alongside Stephanie Hsu, known for Everything Everywhere All at Once and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and Poppy Liu, whose credits include Hacks and His & Hers. Addressing the project, Law said in a statement, “We’re beyond thrilled to partner with Netflix, Universal Television, and Titmouse on ‘Dang!’ We hope that you fall in love with these characters. Or at least find them very, very attractive. Sexually.”

Meanwhile, Netflix’s VP of Animation Series + Kids & Family TV said, “As the home for the best creators and adult animated series, we’re thrilled to bring this incredible team and new show to our global audience.”
