AMC Networks CEO on Why You Need To Be Excited About Upcoming Dark Comedy Show

In the build-up to the release of the new series The Audacity, AMC Networks CEO Kristin Dolan has shared her views on the upcoming comedy drama. The veteran media executive hyped up the Billy Magnussen-led show in a recent discussion, highlighting how the project is extremely relevant to the technological advancements of the modern day.

AMC’s Kristin Dolan is ‘super-stoked’ about The Audacity series

During her Thursday appearance at the NATPE Global event, Kristin Dolan teased The Audacity, right before premiering the first trailer for the series.

“The show hits on so many levels. I read the first scripts a year ago, and it seemed really timely, but we shot over last summer,” Nolan stated (via Deadline).

Revealing that the debut season had five intertwined storylines at the time when rough cuts were assembled, she added, “Each one of them, shockingly, was also happening in the news at the same time, things like AI bots as psychological partners…or teenagers and how teenagers are struggling in social media.”

Created by Jonathan Glatzer, who has served as a writer and producer on shows such as Succession, Better Call Saul, Bloodline, and Bad Sisters, The Audacity follows an ambitious data-mining CEO and his relationship with his therapist in the backdrop of the ever-evolving Silicon Valley. Things take a turn for the worse when the inadvertent disclosure of personal data gives way to a major scandal.

When asked if the series was a risky venture for AMC, considering The Audacity is an original drama, Nolan replied, “No. I mean, that’s what we do. That’s what our DNA is comprised of, these scripted original dramas that touch on characters and situations that feel really relevant.”

Aside from Billy Magnussen, the cast for The Audacity features Sarah Goldberg, Rob Corddry, Meaghan Rath, Simon Helberg, Paul Adelstein, and Lucy Punch, among others, with Randall Park and Zach Galifianakis in recurring roles.

Nolan concluded her account by noting that she’s “super-stoked about this one.” The Audacity is currently on track to premiere its first episode on April 12, 2026.
