In a recent interview with Today, which aired on January 15, 2026, Jason Momoa addressed his upcoming work while discussing how many projects he currently has in development. When asked directly about what fans can expect next, the actor responded without hesitation, saying he has “two more” projects on the way.

Momoa first referenced his upcoming live-action collaboration with Ryan Reynolds, which he said is expected to arrive in June. He then turned attention to his HBO Max series, adding that On the Roam Season 2 is “coming out, I think, in May.” While he stopped short of confirming a specific date, the comment effectively establishes a spring release window for the On the Roam Season 2 release date.

On the Roam, which debuted in 2024, marked a more personal chapter in Momoa’s career. The HBO Max docuseries follows the actor as he travels across the country meeting craftsmen, artists, and builders who dedicate their lives to hands-on creativity. From custom motorcycle makers to photographers and metalworkers, the show celebrates passion, craftsmanship, and the spirit of exploration. The project quickly became a standout for him, offering viewers an intimate look at the actor beyond traditional scripted roles.

Although HBO Max has yet to formally confirm the premiere date, Momoa’s comments strongly suggest that Season 2 is nearing completion. His update also signals confidence in the series’ return, especially after the positive reception of its debut season.

Meanwhile, Momoa’s other major project, Animal Friends, will see him star alongside Ryan Reynolds in a live-action animated road comedy. Directed by Peter Atencio, the film boasts an ensemble cast that includes Vince Vaughn, Aubrey Plaza, and Dan Levy. Warner Bros. Pictures has scheduled the film for a U.S. release on June 5, 2026.
