Damian Marley’s New “Joint” Venture

Damian Marley is not just a marijuana toker, but a broker as well. California-based Ocean Grown Extracts has announced a partnership with Damian aka “Jr. Gong,” the youngest son of legendary reggae artist Bob Marley, to grow “herb” in a former California prison. The family-owned-and-operated cannabis company will convert the 77,000- square-foot space on twenty acres in Coalinga, California into a city-permitted and state-compliant, medical marijuana cultivation, manufacturing and testing facility.

This new joint venture is a win-win for all parties as it will lift the San Joaquin Valley city out of debt by generating a tax revenue of over a million dollars a year and provide 100 local jobs in the first year of operation. “Many people have sacrificed so much for the herb over the years who got locked up,” said the Grammy winning reggae/rap star in a press release. “If this helps people and it’s used for medicinal purposes and inspires people, it’s a success.”
