Netflix just announced a new documentary about the Gosselin Family. This update comes years after the popular TV show Jon & Kate Plus 8, which was later renamed Kate Plus 8 following the couple’s 2009 divorce.
Before this new project, the reality TV show Jon & Kate Plus 8 had a good reputation among fans interested in the life of Kate Gosselin, Jon Gosselin, and their eight children. The original series ran from April 4, 2007, to July 24, 2017. During its run, the series was also one of TLC’s highest-rated programs.
According to the latest reports, Netflix is producing a documentary examining the Gosselin family through interviews and conflicting accounts of their shared experiences. The documentary will revisit the family’s years in the spotlight, exploring how growing up on reality television shaped their experiences. Interviews with Jon, Collin, and Hannah will offer personal perspectives on their evolving lives.
What to know about Netflix’s new Gosselin family movie
Netflix’s upcoming documentary about the Gosselin family will feature interviews with Jon Gosselin and his children, Collin and Hannah Gosselin. According to Tudum by Netflix, Mike Gasparro and Julia Willoughby Nason will serve as producers on the documentary for The Cinemart.
The upcoming show’s official synopsis reads, “For nearly a decade, a family’s chaos and love played out on TV as comfort viewing. Years later, conflicting accounts have emerged from within the family itself — competing memories of the same childhood, the same home, the same spotlight. The new documentary takes a closer look, piecing together the story from every angle: the children who grew up on camera, the adults who built a brand around them, and the audience that couldn’t look away. It’s an intimate look at how real life became a phenomenon the world thought it knew.”
Netflix has not yet announced a release date for the documentary.
