Mikey Madison has opened up about sharing the screen with Jeremy Strong in The Social Reckoning. The actress recently attended the film’s New York City premiere, where she discussed Strong’s method acting.
At the event, Entertainment Tonight asked Madison about her experience working with Strong, who has become known for his intense method acting approach and commitment to his roles. “Well, I only worked with him for about half a day,” Madison admitted. “So I can’t say I have like a real first-person feel for him as an actor.”
Despite the brief experience, Madison praised her co-star and expressed interest in working with him again. The actress added, “I hope maybe sometime in the future we’ll get to do something and I’ll get like a little bit more of a taste of it because I’m very curious of course… For half of the day it was a pleasure.”
The Social Reckoning marks Madison’s first role after Anora, which earned her the Academy Award for Best Actress in 2025.
What is The Social Reckoning about?
Written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, The Social Reckoning is a standalone sequel to David Fincher’s 2010 biographical drama The Social Network, also written by Sorkin. The upcoming film dramatizes the 2021 Facebook leak by the whistleblower Frances Haugen and Jeff Horwitz.
The controversial exposé showed that Facebook was aware of the damaging effects of the social media platform but continued to prioritize profits instead of addressing the matter.
The Social Reckoning stars Mikey Madison as Haugen, the whistleblower, and Jeremy Allen White as Horwitz, the Wall Street Journal reporter who helped leak the documents. Jeremy Strong plays Mark Zuckerberg, the billionaire CEO of Meta Platforms and Facebook.
Other major cast members include Bill Burr, Wunmi Mosaku, Billy Magnussen, Betty Gilpin, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Anna Lambe, and more.
The Social Reckoning arrives in theaters on October 9, 2026.
