Two iconic X-Men might be missing from Marvel’s reboot. A new rumor claims Wolverine and another fan-favorite mutant won’t be part of the MCU movie. The highly anticipated project will be helmed by Jake Schreier, known for making last year’s Thunderbolts*.
According to the latest scoop from trusted insider Alex Perez of Cosmic Circus, the reboot X-Men movie will reportedly leave out Magneto or won’t focus much on him. This rumor comes after Perez previously claimed that Wolverine won’t be in the film either.
According to Perez, it will feature five main mutant characters, namely Jean Grey, Cyclops, Warren Worthington III, Beast, and Iceman. Rogue, Maya, and Emma Frost are expected to join later.
While Alex has a credible track record, fans should still take everything with a grain of salt unless Marvel officially shares the full cast.
Who is confirmed to join Marvel’s new X-Men movie
During last month’s D23 fan event, Marvel Studios confirmed the first seven mutant members of the Untitled X-Men reboot movie. It will be led by Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, who’s already introduced in this year’s blockbuster, Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

The other key cast members include Obsession’s breakout star Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Ready or Not’s Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, theater actress Maya Boyd as Storm, Wolf Man’s Christopher Abbott as Charles Xavier/Professor X, and Heartstopper’s Kit Connor as Scott Summers/Cyclops.
Former Star Wars actor and Hollywood star Adam Driver will also appear in the movie as Nathaniel Milbury/Mister Sinister. He was already rumored to join the MCU for the past few months.
Marvel has also confirmed that remaining cast members will be announced later. However, a new report claims that the eighth character may have already joined the film. Asa Germann, known for his roles in Gen V and Scream 7, is reportedly in talks to portray Warren Worthington III.
The Untitled X-Men movie will hit theaters on May 5, 2028.
