Lacey Chabert & X-Men Star’s New Comedy Movie Arrives on Digital Today

Lacey Chabert is bringing a holiday comedy back into the spotlight with a new home-viewing release. She’s Making a List, which also stars X-Men actor Steve Bacic, arrives on digital platforms on October 20, 2026.

The film offers a Christmas-themed story built around an unusual job, a young girl, and an unexpected romance. Viewers can rent or buy the movie digitally through Amazon Video and iTunes, according to DVD Release Dates.

What to Know About Lacey Chabert and Steve Bacic’s New Comedy Movie

Directed by Stacey N. Harding, She’s Making a List follows Isabel Haynes, played by Chabert. She works as an inspector for the Naughty or Nice Group, a company that assesses children’s behavior using a strict system. Her latest assignment involves Charlie Duncan, an 11-year-old girl whose mischievous behavior makes her case more complicated than expected.

Isabel’s job takes an unexpected turn when she develops feelings for Charlie’s widowed father, Jason Duncan. As Christmas approaches, she must decide whether to follow the company’s rules or trust her own feelings. Andrew Walker plays Jason, while Cadence Compton portrays Charlie. Bacic appears as Rudolph, alongside Alessandro Miro as Giuseppe and Dax Belanger as Santa.

The movie originally premiered on Hallmark Channel on December 6, 2025. It runs for approximately 85 minutes and is listed as a holiday romance. Its digital release arrives on October 20, while the DVD edition is scheduled for October 27, 2026.

The film also marks Chabert and Walker’s first holiday movie together and their first on-screen reunion since 2018’s My Secret Valentine. Critical response has been mixed. Decider criticized its lack of expected holiday charm. However, Pop Heist called the premise “very original and totally bonkers.” Rotten Tomatoes lists three critic reviews but no overall Tomatometer score.

For those who missed its original television premiere, the digital release is another way to watch Chabert’s Christmas romance from home.
