There Is A Barbecue Festival Coming To Sydney

Wine, chocolate and bacon have already been gifted their own festivals so the good people of Sydney can immerse themselves for a day, and now, finally, there is one for meat.

Some geniuses have decided that Sydney needs a festival entirely dedicated to barbecue and are bringing it to life early next year in The Domain.

Based off American barbecue festivals held all around the US, The Yaks Sydney Barbecue Festival will be a celebration of all things meat-related, featuring food stalls, cooking demonstrations and purveyors of fine meat.

The festival has already been to Melbourne where it was wildly successful. The Melbourne and Sydney festivals are the only ones in the Southern Hemisphere to be sanctioned by barbecue bigwigs the Kansas City Barbeque Society.

Basically, Sydney city is going to smell like pork ribs for an entire day which is welcome news to most but awful news for vegetarians. Tickets go on sale 12 noon (AEST), Thursday 8th October.
