Recipe: Forget the Jar with Homemade Tomato Salsa
At any party, it’s the easiest thing in creation to just open a jar a salsa, dump it in a bowl, bring out the chips and let your guests dip away into mediocrity.
You can be better than that. This simple, quick Fresh Tomato Salsa recipe adds a personal touch of style and ambition to your party that’s entirely undeserved with you consider how easy it is.
Fresh Tomato Salsa
- 1 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
- 1 4 oz can green chilies
- 1/4 cup green onion, sliced
- 3 Tbsp chopped cilantro
- 2 Tblsp lime juice
- 1-2 jalapeño pepper, seeded and chopped. If you prefer less heat use banana peppers instead
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
Preparation: Combine all ingredients and mix well. If you like a less chunky salsa, put a cup of salsa in a blender until smooth and add to the rest of salsa.
