Obviously, when we hear terms like grilling and BBQ, you conjure up images of outdoor parties, sizzling flames and hot dishes. But, you can take that spicy, tangy taste of barbecue with you anywhere without the need of blazing coals today or long after our Summer Grilling Guyd is done.

This home Beef Jerky Recipe takes a little work, but you end up with a quick taste of grilling in your pocket anytime you want it when you're done.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp BBQ Dry Rub
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 tsp onion salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 beef rump roast 3-5 pounds

Note: You can also use sirloin tip, flank or venison.

Preparation:

Mix spices with sauces.

Cut steak into strips. I partially freeze the meat to make it easier to slice.

Pour mixture over sliced steak using a container with a lid. Let the meat marinade over night in the refrigerator.

Put oven on lowest heat setting. Line bottom of oven with foil. Place meat strips on oven racks. Do not overlap.

Leave oven door cracked open. It will take 4-5 hours to dry meat. Be sure meat is dry completely before removing. Store in tightly covered container.
