Who says you have to wait until Nov. 25 to start your annual Thanksgiving food binge? Not Krispy Kreme. The doughnut-maker recently announced four new Turkey Day-themed pastries that are perfect for gobble-gobbling down well ahead of your family feast.
Available now, the doughnuts come in four mouthwatering flavors. Let’s break them all down. First is the Pecan Pie flavor, which consists of an Original Glazed doughnut dipped in butter tart filling, then topped with candied pecans and pie crust crumbles. Next up is Cranberry Orange, which features cranberry orange icing and cranberry filling. Apple pie enthusiasts will love the Dutch Apple Pie Doughnut, which is stuffed with apple pie filling, then topped with cinnamon and caramel icing. Finally, there’s the Gobbler Doughnut, a heart-shaped masterpiece with a fondant turkey face, slathered in chocolate icing, chocolate Kreme, and sprinkles.
Holy sugar rush.
If you’re feeling generous, you can buy a “custom gratitude box” of the treats for your nearest and dearest. The packaging includes a “Gobbles of Gratitude” section where you can pen a thank-you note to the recipient.
“We missed out on so much last year, including Thanksgiving celebrations,” said Dave Skena, Chief Marketing Officer for Krispy Kreme in a release. “This Thanksgiving, people have a desire and need to be together more often and more so than any other Thanksgiving. So, we’re creating a way to share your gratitude with others in the most delicious way possible.”
We wish we were big-hearted enough (or simply had the willpower) to buy a bunch of doughnuts for other people, but let’s be honest: we could probably wolf down an entire box of these goodies on the way from the counter to our car.
Let the holiday weight gain begin!
