Popular YouTuber Joey Salads’ Racist “Social Experiment” Exposed as Fake

Joey Salads has 1.4 million subscribers on YouTube, with his videos mostly consisting of “social experiments” and pranks. As is typically the case with YouTubers of his ilk, Salads’ videos have often been brought into question, with him being accused on multiple occasions of staging the events depicted in them. His videos have recently attracted extra attention as a result of them featuring race-baiting content, including videos titled ‘Black Lives Matter vs All Lives Matter Supporters,’ ‘Black People Racist Towards White People?’, ‘Black vs White’ and his latest upload, ‘Trump Car DESTROYED in Black Neighborhood.’

The video begins with Salads saying that “a lot of black people don’t like Trump,” adding: “They don’t even like his supporters in some cases.” In order to highlight this, Salads reveals a car featuring pro-Trump stickers, flags and other paraphernalia related to the presidential candidate, suggesting that black people will react violently upon seeing it. The clip then cuts to 15 minutes later, and shows a number of black men attacking the vehicle with weapons. “As you can see from this video, the black community is very violent towards Trump and his supporters,” Salads says in his parting message. However, the video how now been confirmed as a fake, with Salads being forced to explain the reasoning behind him attempting to depict the black community as violent thugs.

Salads was outed by fellow YouTubers h3h3productions, who posted a video featuring a recording sent to them by a fan, which shows the black men featured in Salads’ videos waiting behind the camera while the YouTuber delivers his lines to the camera. The recording can be seen below:

Another recording shows the black men standing alongside Salads’ camera crew, who are filming the destruction of the Trump car:

As pointed out in h3h3productions’ video, before Salads’ “social experiment” was revealed as a fake, its comments section was littered with racist comments criticizing the men – who have since been confirmed as paid actors – on the basis of the color of their skin. Salads has posted a number of racially charged videos in the past few months, taking advantage of growing tensions in the US as a result of the current presidential election, including one depicting black men physically assaulting him as a result of him holding an ‘All Lives Matter’ sign.

In the same vein, Salads’ latest videos implies that the black community will react violently with stunning immediacy if you’re a vocal Trump supporter. Ironically, Salads’ dedicated politics channel — which is titled “Uncensored Truth” in absolute sincerity — features a rant from Salads in which he criticizes an anti-Trump video posted by VOX, with him condemning them for showing their viewers “false truths” and “trying to twist things.”

After h3h3productions’ video went live, Salads posted a video explaining why he had faked the “social experiment” (outside of generating traffic via race-baiting, of course). Salads claims that his original intention for the video was to record people reacting to the men destroying the Trump car, but that he eventually decided upon positioning the video to his viewers as though the actors were really attacking the vehicle. It’s uncertain whether or not Salads informed the actors of his apparent change of plans, but the original video has still remained online with Salads continuing to generate views from his race-baiting tactics, despite him having now admitted that he had lied.
