Read An Exclusive Short Story From Bizarre New World Anthology

Back in 1999, writer Skipper Martin posed two simple questions to himself: “what would happen if I could fly? And what if I was only the first?”

From that moment of inspiration came Bizarre New World, a comic book series which explores a world in which almost everyone can fly like a superhero. Martin began working on the series in 2005 and he released four issues of Bizarre New World through Ape Entertainment in 2007 and 2008.

After nine years, Martin has completed Bizarre New World as a 278 page graphic novel alongside artists Chris Provencher and Adam Huntley, colorist Wes Dzioba with letters by Tom Orzechowski and Ed Dukeshire.

Additionally, Martin produced a Bizarre New World Anthology which features short stories by over 50 comic creators including Rick Leonardi, Tradd Moore, Allan Jefferson, Megan Levens, Tone Rodriguez, Roberta Ingranata, Corinna Bechko, Ed Brisson and Troy Dye.

Both Bizarre New World and the Bizarre New World Anthology are finished, but Martin is turning to Kickstarter for help to bring his comic back to print.

In support of that Kickstarter campaign, CraveOnline is proud to present “SDCC,” the second of 14 complete stories from Bizarre New World Anthology. (You can read the first story, “The Morning After” on Geeks of Doom).

“SDCC” is an eleven page tale that features BNW main character, Paul Krutcher and his son, Sean as they see first hand how comic book fans use their new abilities to reach a higher level of cosplay.
