Following evidence of its existence appearing online, Tony Hawk has confirmed that a new Tony Hawk Pro Skater game is in the works with a video that is sure to get the blood pumping in the veins of THPS fans.

The video, featuring skater Rob Wootton, mimics the character selection screens of the Pro Skater games of old, soundtracked by Rage Against The Machine’s ‘Guerrilla Radio’, a track featured in the critically-acclaimed Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2.

The Tony Hawk video game franchise has had a rough time over the last few years. Poor releases in the series such as the dismal Tony Hawk: Ride, which featured a woeful skateboard peripheral, and the underwhelming HD remake of the original THPS have left a sour taste in the mouths of fans.
However, given the amount of excitement Hawk is generating around this new release, I’d predict that they have something special hidden up their sleeves this time around. As a big fan of the old Pro Skater series, and as someone who believes that there simply aren’t enough skateboard video games these days, I can’t wait to see what it is.
