13-Year-Old Girl Dominates Little League, Leads Team To World Series

Normally when I think of Philadelphia I think of cheesesteak, booing Santa Claus and Boyz II Men. However, this week it’s all about Mo’Ne Davis.

Davis is a 13-year-old girl about to enter the 8th grade and is gaining national headlines for leading her Little League baseball team (yes, a boys team) to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Penn. after dominating on the mound for her Philadelphia area Taney Dragons, pitching a complete game shutout.

Reports say her fast ball touches 70 miles per hour, she has a devastating curve ball — which by the way, can’t be healthy for such a young kid to throw — and she’s been playing travel baseball since age seven. She’s basically the most impressive female youth baseball player anyone has ever seen.

Think about it — she’s 4’11”, weighs 84 pounds and can throw the ball 70 MPH on a Little League mound? Insane.

Here are Vines to prove it:

Davis is also an honor student, so she’s basically knocking it out of the park in all aspects of life. She’s told reporters she wants to play in the WNBA some day. If she’s as good at basketball as she is at baseball, I like her chances.
