‘Game of Thrones’ Promotes Nathalie Emmanuel For Season 5

With “Game of Thrones” Season 4 just under two months away, HBO is already lining up actors for the fifth season. Back in January, Michiel Huisman was bumped to series regular for “Game of Thrones” Season 5. And he’s not the only one.

Nathalie Emmanuel has also been promoted to series regular for “Game of Thrones” Season 5.  Emmanuel joined the series during the third season when she was introduced as Missandei, a former slave who became one of the top advisors to Daenerys (Emilia Clarke). Emmanuel appeared as a recurring performer in the upcoming fourth season before landing the coveted promotion.

Prior to “Game of Thrones,”  Emmanuel was best known for her long running stint on the British soap opera, “Hollyoaks” and a guest spot on “Misfits.” However, Emmanuel’s star appears to be on the rise and she has a leading role in the upcoming Fast & Furious 7.

Technically, “Game of Thrones” has not yet been renewed by HBO for season 5. But that official renewal will likely come early after the fourth season premieres, especially if the ratings increase significantly. This is the pattern that HBO has followed since the second season of “Game of Thrones.”

“Game of Thrones” Season 4 will premiere on Sunday, April 6.
