What’s Your Drink of Choice For 2014? How ‘Bout a Kopparberg Cider?

The New Year is here and, like many of you, we here at Crave have sampled our fair share of beer, wine and spirits during the holiday season. And all of this imbibing got us talking… Well, arguing really (it’s what we do best). What is the all-time greatest type of alcohol?

After hours of hard, drunken debate (with a few yelling fights and some fisticuffs being thrown), we finally settled on an answer: we weren’t going to come up with an answer.  It’s like picking your favorite child.

But we did decide hard cider is a vastly underappreciate beverage. We know what you’re thinking, “hard cider, really?” But it’s true. It really is one of the greatest alcohols there is. So just take a moment and think about it with us.

Cider hits that sweet spot between beer and a mixed drink. It’s cool and refreshing. It’s sweet like rum, drinks like a lager and gives you a nice buzz on top of it all. It’s great for warm summer barbecues because it’s cool and pairs incredibly well with all sorts of meat. But it’ll also keep you warm after an epic day of hitting the slopes.

Still not convinced? Just ask the people over at Kopparberg. This quaint little Swedish town of 3,016 is producing one of the best, and most popular, ciders in the entire world. They know what cider is all about.

These folks live, breathe and (unsurprisingly) drink cider. And they’ve been doing it for quite some time. Since 1930, they’ve been getting people tipsy with their famous beverages. What’s the secret ingredient in their awesome alcohol? They credit its delicious flavor to the city’s “soft water.” This water is locally sourced at a natural spring. It has a lower mineral content than most water, so, when you drink a Kopparberg, you truly taste the flavor of the cider.

So the next time that you have a hankering for something alcoholic, why not try out the world’s best pear cider? Hell, you should try out all of their awesome flavors – Elderberry and Lime, Pear, Strawberry and Lime, Naked Apple and Mixed Berry – because they’re all pretty tasty.

Trust us, give Kopparberg a try and you won’t be disappointed.
