Most cats are a-holes, so perhaps this wild badger was a tad more friendly.
An animal rescue officer with the Scottish SPCA got quite the call when she was sent to the Linlithgow home with complaints of a wild badger in the residence. But what was this wild badger doing? Well he was just pretending to be the family cat. The badger apparently snuck inside the house through a cat door, ate the cat’s food and then proceeded to sleep in the cat bed.
So this is what SPCA Officer Connie O’Neil came face-to-face with when she arrived at the home:
We were alerted yesterday to a badger who was spotted in a house in Linlithgow!

Well he certainly looks comfortable. According to O’Neil it wasn’t easy at all to get the badger out of there. Here’s what she said:
“He didn’t seem too happy when I tried to move him but I was able to slide the cat bed round and it was then that the badger noticed the back door was open so [he] made a run for it!”

But don’t go off and try to make a badger your pet if you spot one. Heed SPCA chief superintendent, Mike Flynn’s warning:
“Like all wild animals badgers can be aggressive when injured or cornered so we would advise not to go near or touch them without giving us a call first.”
I’m sure that badger has quite a story to tell now.
